Accessibility Statement
Ensuring educational equity through barrier-free digital infrastructure, aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
Inclusion by Design
A Barrier-Free Educational Ecosystem
At the World Education Quality Services Council (WEQSC), we believe that educational excellence cannot exist without universal accessibility. Founded on the principle of equity, the WISE digital ecosystem is engineered to dismantle barriers for learners, educators, and administrators with disabilities. We are firmly committed to adhering to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA to ensure our examination portals and registries are usable by everyone.
Screen Reader Optimization
Our portals utilize rigorous ARIA landmarks and semantic HTML5 to ensure seamless navigation for users relying on screen readers.
Keyboard Navigability
Every core function, from examination submission to document verification, is 100% accessible via keyboard interfaces without requiring mouse input.
Visual Acuity Adjustments
We support high-contrast modes, dynamic text scaling up to 200%, and color-blind friendly data visualization across all WEQSC dashboards.
Our Accessibility Roadmap
1. Current Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The WISE digital portals are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that while the core examination delivery and grading architecture meets strict standards, some older PDF administrative documents and legacy archival systems do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
2. Continuous Improvement Measures
To uphold our commitment to educational equity, WEQSC implements the following measures across the organization:
- Accessibility is integrated directly into our CI/CD pipelines, automatically rejecting code that fails WCAG compliance tests.
- Annual third-party accessibility audits are conducted by certified Swiss agencies.
- Internal UI/UX developers undergo mandatory accessibility training focusing on neurodivergent and physical disability requirements.
3. Accommodations for Examinations
We recognize that technical accessibility of a website is different from pedagogical accessibility during a high-stakes exam. Students requiring specific accommodations (e.g., extended time, specialized input devices, or human scribe assistance) can request these modifications via the Special Needs Form during the application process. These requests are evaluated independently by our academic senate to ensure fair assessment without compromising the integrity of the Swiss standard.
Accessibility Feedback
We welcome your feedback. If you encounter any accessibility barriers on the WISE portals, or if you need information in a different format (such as accessible PDF or large print), please contact our support team.
