Results and Grading

Overview

The results of the WISE Examination are released to the school and to the candidate through the Institution Management Portal upon completion of moderation. The results are expressed as a final subject grade and an aggregate score.

Final Grade Composition

The final grade in each subject is composed of:

  • Internal Assessment — 40% of the total mark;
  • WISE Examination — 60% of the total mark.

Aggregate Score

The aggregate score is the sum of the final subject grades across all subjects, expressed as a mark out of the maximum aggregate mark.

Bonus Marks

Bonus marks are additional marks awarded to a student's final score in the examination, in recognition of representation in sport, uniformed organisations, or co-curricular activity. Bonus marks are added to the aggregate score, not to individual subject scores.

The final percentage stated on the credential reflects the aggregate score after the addition of Bonus Marks.

Grade Point Average

The marksheet states the grade point average across subjects.

Grade Bands

The final grade in each subject is expressed as a letter grade, according to the following bands:

GradeDescription
A*Exceptional
AExcellent
BVery Good
CGood
DSatisfactory
EAdequate
FNot Achieved

Re-evaluation

A student may request a re-evaluation of a WISE Examination result under the procedure set out in the Accountability section of this portal. The request must be submitted within thirty days of the publication of the result.

Release of Results

Results are ordinarily released through the Portal within thirty days of the examination. The exact date is specified in the Examination Calendar.

Credential Issuance

Where a student's results have been finalised and the student has met the requirements for a WISE credential, the school may generate the credential through the Portal.

Conclusion

The results and grading system of the WISE Examination is designed to provide a reliable, uniform, and internationally comparable measure of a candidate's achievement. All results procedures not expressly set out in this portal must follow the Secretariat's official bylaws.
