Reaffiliation After Termination
Reaffiliation
Reaffiliation is the re-establishment of accreditation following termination. It is subject to the cooling-off period, full application, and probationary terms set out in this page.
Cooling-Off Period
A school whose accreditation has been terminated may not apply for reaffiliation until the expiry of a cooling-off period of not less than two years from the date of termination, or such longer period as the Accreditation Committee may specify in the termination decision.
Full Application
An application for reaffiliation is a full application. The applicant must satisfy the eligibility criteria, submit the full application package, and undergo substantive review, including a Verification Site Visit.
Probationary Terms
Where reaffiliation is granted, it is ordinarily granted on probationary terms for a period of not less than two years. During the probationary period:
- The school is subject to audit not less than twice per year;
- The school must report to WEQSC on compliance matters not less than once per quarter;
- Any Critical Finding during the probationary period may result in immediate termination without further cure period.
Reinstatement
Reinstatement is the restoration of Active Accreditation following the successful remediation of a Suspension. Reinstatement is granted by the Accreditation Committee on application by the school, supported by evidence that the matters giving rise to the Suspension have been remedied.
Conclusion
Reaffiliation is available to schools that have remedied the matters giving rise to termination. It is subject to stringent conditions designed to ensure that the school is capable of sustaining compliance with the WEQSC framework. All reaffiliation procedures not expressly set out in this portal must follow the Secretariat's official bylaws.
